Clean. Aesthetic. Functional. That is the selling point of SK21PT. As an artist, I believe a site should look good, but as someone like you who also uses the internet, I don't think it should come at the cost of easy navigation.
All it takes is a few seconds for someone to look at your website and immediately become disinterested. Just like any good book or movie, you need to hook your audience within those first few seconds, and being visually appealing is part of that.
Now that you have your visitor's attention, you can't scare them away with complicated interfaces, an unorganized mess of ads, or a maze of inconveniences. If too much is happening, it not only can be frustrating to navigate, but it can also slow your website down as it tries to run all kinds of JavaScript and back-end code to fill the page with content the viewer might not even care to see or use.
The visitor is your client, and your website is your office and sales pitch. Different businesses will have different styles, but everyone should want to make the perfect impression on visitors, making it a positive experience. Satisfied visitors become repeat visitors.
